As the Program Manager of the Ground Based Midcourse Defense Program, General Patrick O’Reilly was in charge of a 2,000-person, $3 billion a year, missile system project to protect the United States from missile attacks. In this role, Patrick O’Reilly integrated missile, space, and radar technologies and supported the system’s initial operation. LT Gen Patrick O’Reilly also validated system performances in a challenging and highly successful flight test program in the Pacific Ocean.
